Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions are valid for all Alter Exploration tours, and are subject to change. Participation in an Alter Exploration tour requires that you agree to these Terms and Conditions and agree not to sue Alter Exploration. Upon payment of a deposit, you agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions.

Payment Policy

  • To reserve a tour, Alter requires a $500 deposit per person.
  • Once a deposit has been received, and your reservation has been confirmed and accepted by Alter, we will send a final invoice.
  • Final payment is required 60 days (for international tours) or 30 days (domestic tours) prior to departure.
  • If final payment is not received by 15 days past the final payment deadline, a late fee of $250 will apply.

Tour Cancellation Policy

  • Once a tour is booked, the deposit is considered non-refundable.
  • Within four weeks of the tour start date, 75% is non-refundable.
  • Within seven days of the tour start date, 100% is non-refundable.
  • We will review any sudden changes to international travel restrictions on a case by case basis.
  • We recommend you secure your own travel insurance for the duration of the trip, in case of illness, accidents, or last minute cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances.
  • Alter Exploration reserves the right to make date, route, activity, and accommodations modifications to any tour. This includes the details of itineraries as they appear on AlterExploration.com. Every effort is made to keep changes to a minimum.
  • Alter Exploration is not responsible for any personal expenses incurred due to changes in itineraries or tour cancellations, such as prepaid hotel accommodations or airline tickets.

Guided Ride Cancellation Policy

  • Our day rate depends on the length of the ride, but is typically $300 for up to a 6-hour ride.
  • To reserve a guided ride, Alter requires a 25% deposit.
  • Once a guided ride is booked, 25% will be non-refundable. Within 48 hours of ride date, cancellation is non-refundable.

VENDOR/SUpplier disclaimer

Alter Exploration and its employees, agents, and assigns, neither own nor operate any person or entity which is to, or does, provide goods or services for our trips and tours. Because Alter Exploration does not maintain any control over the personnel, equipment, or operations of these vendors/suppliers, Alter Exploration assumes no responsibility for and cannot be held liable for any personal injury, death, property damage, or other loss, accident, delay, inconvenience, or irregularity which may be occasioned by reason of (1) any wrongful, negligent, willful, or unauthorized acts or omissions on the part of any of the tour suppliers, or other employees or agents, (2) any defect in or failure of any vehicle, equipment, instrument owned, operated or otherwise by any of these suppliers, or (3) any wrongful, willful, or negligent act or omissions on any part of any other party not under the supervision or control of Alter Exploration.
